Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Q1 Earnings Rise

(RTTNews) - Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. (ASX) Friday reported higher earnings for the first quarter with net income attributable to shareholders of the parent, rising to NT$633 million from NT$612 million, in the year-ago period.

Earnings per share advanced to NT$0.44 per share from NT$0.29 per share last year. Total quarterly revenues rose to NT$21.37 billion from NT$16.38 billion in the comparable period in 2013.

Looking forward, for the second quarter, the firm estimates IC-ATM revenues to approach fourth-quarter levels and EMS revenues to be flat, to slightly down. The consolidated gross profit margin is expected to be 20 percent ahead of fourth-quarter levels and the company expects capital expenditure for full year 2014 to advance by US$200 million to US$250 million, subject to adjustments in line with market condition.
