Acxiom CEO John Meyer Named to DMA Board
John Meyer, CEO and president of Acxiom® Corporation (Nasdaq: ACXM), has been named to the board of directors of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA). He was elected to a three-year term Sunday during the DMA09 Annual Conference, which continues through Thursday in San Diego.
Meyer was nominated to the board based on his leadership of Acxiom, a $1 billion marketing services company that is reinventing customer engagement through an intense focus on actionable multichannel strategies anchored by deep consumer insights.
As a DMA board member, Meyer will help set direction for the leading global trade association of multichannel direct marketing practitioners. He will help advance the interests of marketing professionals while also working through Acxiom to protect privacy and promote responsible handling of consumer information.
"Direct marketing is rapidly evolving, as consumers exert more control over how they are targeted,” said Meyer. "I look forward to helping shape the conversation so that people feel like they’re receiving relevant and valuable communications as well as protection from identity theft or other misuse.”
