3COM Appoints R. Scott Murray Chief Executive Officer; New Leader Brings Proven Track Record for Growing Revenue, Improving Profitability and Creating Shareholder Value

Prior to accepting the role of CEO for 3Com, Murray was the CEO ofModus Media International, a global provider of supply chainmanagement and hosted services. While at Modus, he built operationalexcellence and a strong focus on growth in revenue and new serviceofferings, which resulted in increased shareholder value andprofitability. He also expanded Modus' operations in Europe and Asia,particularly in China.

Hepreviously served as Chief Financial Officer for the Learning Company,a publicly traded software company with more than $800 million inannual revenue. He graduated from the University of Western Ontarioand began his career as a chartered accountant for Arthur Andersen inCanada.
