2007 PARTNERS User Group Conference Will Showcase the Innovative Power of Teradata Enterprise Intelligence
Teradata, a division of NCR
Corporation (NYSE:NCR), announced details of the 21st
annual Teradata PARTNERS User Group Conference and Expo, to be held from
Sunday, Oct. 7, through Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Mandalay Bay Resort in
Las Vegas. The conference is the world’s
largest annual data warehousing and business analytics exposition, and
is organized by Teradata’s growing global
customer community to showcase the power of enterprise data warehousing,
from the database to native applications and innovative consulting
services.
News Facts
This year’s conference is especially
significant since it will be the first one held after Teradata becomes
an independent corporation. Teradata is an award-winning $1.6 billion
data warehousing, analytical application and consulting services
business. Teradata will be the only company in the world with a core
focus on enterprise
data warehousing – ranging from the
platform to applications to consulting.
PARTNERS 2007 will offer more than 200 sessions focused on data
warehouse-driven actionable insights on business and technical topics.
The event is expected to attract more than 3,000 business
professionals across industries, including chief executives,
line-of-business managers, information (IT) directors and database
architects. The event also attracts IT and business analysts over many
fields of business practice, academics from Stanford, Northwestern and
other institutions, and journalists from around the world.
In addition to conference sessions are Teradata industry forums and
meetings focused on advanced
analytics, business applications, enterprise
intelligence and thought leadership in retail, financial,
insurance, communications, travel, transportation,
media/entertainment, healthcare, life sciences/pharmaceutical,
government and manufacturing.
Many companies participating have been recognized as elite innovators
whose best practices and world-class solutions distinguish them in the
field of enterprise intelligence. Customer presenters at the event
continue to use their Teradata warehouse platforms for competitive
differentiation, and include global leaders in the financial services
and insurance industry such as Barclay’s
Bank and Norwich Union; retailers like Hudson’s
Bay Company and The Warehouse; consumer online leaders such as eBay,
PayPal and Overstock.com; premiere companies in travel including
Qantas Airways; the leading communications service providers including
Vodafone; leading edge manufacturers such as FujiFilm Corporation;
plus healthcare leaders such as Express Scripts, Inc.; and data
warehouse users in government organizations.
This year’s keynote speaker on Monday Oct.
8 is Silicon Valley-based management consultant Geoffrey
Moore, author of the best-selling Crossing the Chasm, Inside
the Tornado, Living on the Fault Line and Dealing With Darwin.
Moore is an advocate and specialist in exploring the varieties of
innovation applied to technology strategy and business performance.
On Wednesday, Oct. 10 inventor and technology advocate Dean
Kamen will deliver a general session presentation. He is best
known as inventor of the Segway HT, an electric, self-balancing human
transporter with a complex, computer-controlled gyroscopic
stabilization and control system.
Teradata Chief Executive Officer Michael Koehler will speak at the
Monday morning general session, and Chief Technology Officer Stephen
