UK House Price Inflation Eases In April

(RTTNews) - British house price inflation eased for the first time in eight months in April, figures from the Office for National Statistics showed Tuesday.

The house price index rose 8.2 percent year-over-year in April, slower than previous month's 8.5 percent hike.

The average UK mix-adjusted house price was GBP 209,000 in April, which was GBP 16,000 higher than in the same month of 2015.

Annual house price inflation in England alone was 9.1 percent. House prices grew 1.7 percent in Wales over the latest twelve months.

On a regional basis, London continues to be the region with the highest average house price at GBP 470,000, the ONS said.

On a monthly basis, house prices increased a seasonally adjusted 0.6 percent in April.
