U.K. Leading Index Signals Moderate Growth For Months Ahead
(RTTNews) - The composite leading index suggested that moderate growth in the U.K. economy is likely to continue in the months ahead, the Conference Board reported Friday.
The leading economic index rose 0.2 percent in March, but slower than the 0.6 percent seen in February. It has increased for three consecutive months.
The coincident index, a measure of current economic activity, also climbed 0.2 percent in March, the same rate as reported a month ago.
During the six-month span through March, the leading indicator gained 0.2 percent, down substantially from 1.4 percent over the previous six months. At the same time, the coincident economic index increased 1.3 percent, with all four components advancing.
