Swiss Producer And Import Prices Fall Less Than Expected
(RTTNews) - Switzerland's producer and import prices decreased at a slower-than-expected pace in May, figures from the Federal Statistical Office showed Tuesday.
The producer and import price index dropped 1.2 percent year-over-year in May, below economists' expectations for a 1.5 percent decline. It was also slower than the 2.4 percent fall in March.
The measure has been falling since January 2014.
Month-on-month, the producer and import prices index climbed 0.4 percent in May, following a 0.3 percent increase in April. Economists had expected only a 0.1 percent rise for the month.
Producer prices went up 0.4 percent from the previous month and import prices grew the same.
