Sweden's Inflation Eases In May
(RTTNews) - Sweden's consumer price inflation slowed to a three-month low in May, Statistics Sweden reported Tuesday.
Inflation came in at 0.6 percent in May, down from 0.8 percent in April. This was the lowest rate since February and below the expected rate of 0.7 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices gained 0.2 percent versus flat growth in April. Economists had forecast a 0.3 percent increase.
Underlying inflation slowed to 1.1 percent from 1.4 percent and was below the expected rate of 1.2 percent. Month-on-month, it climbed 0.2 percent.
The harmonized index of consumer prices increased 0.2 percent from April and the inflation rate according to HICP was 0.8 percent in May.
