South Korea Export Prices Gain 0.5% In August

(RTTNews) - Export prices in South Korea were up 0.5 percent on month in August, the Bank of Korea said on Wednesday - slowing from the 1.1 percent jump in July.

On a yearly basis, export prices surged 10.7 percent - up from 8.1 percent in the previous month.

Export prices for agricultural, forestry and marine products were up 2.3 percent on month and 7.4 percent on year, while manufactured products added 0.5 percent on month and 10.7 percent on year.

Import prices gained 1.5 percent on month after adding 0.5 percent in July. They were up 9.0 percent on year, up from 5.5 percent a month earlier.

Import prices for raw materials gained 2.8 percent on month and 25.2 percent on year, while intermediate goods were up 1.4 percent on month and 6.3 percent on year.
