New Zealand Manufacturing Sector Accelerates In February

(RTTNews) - Activity in the New Zealand manufacturing sector increased sharply in February, the latest survey from Business NZ revealed on Friday, with a Performance of Manufacturing Index score of 55.9.

That's up from 50.7 in January, and it moves further above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

Among the individual components of the survey, new orders, deliveries, employment, production and finished stocks all were firmly in expansion territory.

All four regions also expanded, including Otago-Southland, Canterbury Westland, Northern and Central.
