Mexico GDP Expands 3.3% In Q3 As Estimated

(RTTNews) - The Mexican economy expanded as initially estimated in the third quarter, the latest data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, or INEGI, showed on Friday.

Gross domestic product advanced an unadjusted 3.3 percent year-over-year in the September quarter, slightly below the 3.4 percent growth seen in the June quarter. That was in line with the flash data published on October 31.

Regarding large economic activities, the primary sector expanded the most, by 5.7 percent annually in the third quarter, faster than the 2.6 percent gain in the previous quarter.

The secondary activity grew at a slightly faster pace of 4.3 percent versus 3.9 percent expansion in the second quarter. Meanwhile, the growth in the tertiary sector eased to 2.7 percent from 3.1 percent.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, GDP advanced 1.1 percent sequentially in the third quarter, revised up from the 0.9 percent estimated initially.
