Lockhart: June Rate Hike Possible But No Conclusions Have Been Made
(RTTNews) - It's still too early to draw conclusions about June meeting of the Federal Reserve, according to Atlanta Fed President Dennis Lockhart.
The Fed may elect to raise interest rates, but will take in more economic data before making its decision, Lockhart told Politico online today.
Lockhart expects first quarter economic growth figures to be revised higher.
Therefore, markets are more pessimistic than he is about June.
Both Lockhart and John Williams are speaking at a forum hosted by Politico. They both expect two or three rate hikes in 2016.
