Latvia Producer Price Inflation Rises For Second Month

(RTTNews) - Latvia's industrial producer price inflation accelerated for a second straight month in February, figures from the Central Statistical Bureau showed Friday.

The producer price index rose 1 percent year-on-year, following 0.6 percent in January. Producer prices increased the most in the utilities sector, up 1.3 percent.

Domestic market producer prices climbed 0.3 percent, which was faster than January's 0.1 percent gain. It was the second monthly increase in a row.

Prices in the export market rose 1.7 percent, which was also faster than the previous month's 1.2 percent.

Month-on-month, producer prices edged up 0.1 percent in February, after rising 0.7 percent at the start of the year. In December, prices declined 0.7 percent.
