Japan Industrial Production On Tap For Wednesday

(RTTNews) - Japan will on Wednesday see preliminary June figures for industrial production, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

Output is expected to fall 1.2 percent on month but rise 5.2 percent on year. That follows the 0.7 percent monthly increase and the 1.0 percent annual gain in May.

Japan also will release vehicle production data for June; in May, production climbed 6.1 percent on year.

New Zealand will provide June numbers for building permits; in May, permits were down 4.6 percent on month.

South Korea will see June figures for industrial production; in May, output was down 2.7 percent on month and 2.1 percent on year.

Finally, markets in Indonesia remain closed on Wednesday in observance of Eid-ul-Fitri; they will be off until August 4.
