Italy's Industrial Production Grows 1.4% In January
(RTTNews) - Italy's industrial production returned to growth in January after falling in the previous month, data released by statistical office Istat showed Monday.
Industrial production grew a working-day adjusted 1.4 percent in January from the corresponding month of last year. This followed a 0.7 percent decrease in December and a 1.5 percent gain in November.
Within the industrial sub-sectors, intermediate goods production rose 4.5 percent annually, and output of capital goods gained 2.7 percent. Production of consumer goods was higher by 0.6 percent than in January 2013. Meanwhile, energy production decreased by 5.3 percent.
On a monthly basis, industrial production grew a seasonally adjusted 1 percent in January, reversing December's 0.8 percent contraction, data showed.
