Italy CPI Falls As Estimated In May
(RTTNews) - Italy's consumer prices decreased for the fourth consecutive month in May as initially estimated, final figures from the statistical office Istat showed Tuesday.
The consumer price index dropped 0.3 percent year-over-year in May, in line with the flash data published on May 31. In April, prices had fallen 0.5 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.3 percent in May, confirming the preliminary report, reversing a 0.1 percent decrease in the prior month.
The EU measure of inflation, or HICP slid 0.3 percent annually in May, following a 0.4 percent decline a month ago. Month-on-month, the HICP slipped 0.4 percent. These figures were also matched flash data.
