Indonesia Manufacturing Sector Accelerates In August - S&P Global

(RTTNews) - The manufacturing sector in Indonesia continued to expand in August, and at a faster rate, the latest survey from S&P Global showed on Friday with a manufacturing PMI score of 53.9.

That's up from 53.3 in July and it moves further above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

Better underlying demand conditions led to a sharper rise in new order inflows midway into the third quarter, with the pace of growth accelerating to the most pronounced since October 2021.

Around 13 percent of survey respondents indicated growth in new orders compared with just 2 percent that saw a decline. Foreign demand conditions likewise improved in August, supporting a further rise in new export orders.
