Egypt Oct Non-Oil Private Sector Growth Slowest In Three Months
(RTTNews) - Non-oil private sector activity in Egypt rose at the slowest rate in three months in October, results of a survey by Markit Economics and HSBC showed Tuesday.
The purchasing managers' index, or PMI, for the non-oil private sector fell to 51 in October from the near-record high of 52.5 in September. This marked the weakest expansion in thee months.
A reading above 50 indicates expansion in the non-oil private sector activity.
Output increased at the slowest rate in the current three-month sequence of growth. New orders also rose in October.
Employment levels improved for the second successive month in October.
Input costs continued to rise but the rate of increase was weakest since May. Output prices rose by a marginal rate.
