COLOMBIA: Trade Balance In May Is Best In Almost Three Years

(RTTNews) - Colombia's trade deficit in May declined to US$ 186.4 million - the best trade balance result since August 2014, when the country recorded a US$ 142,5 million surplus - according to the national statistics office. In May 2016, Colombia had a trade deficit of US$ 685.2 million.

Exports in May were 23.4% higher than a year before, at US$ 3.385 billion - the highest monthly level in 2017 -, while imports rose 4.2%, to US$ 3.571 billion.

From January through May, Colombia's posted a US$ 3.528 billion trade deficit.
