Marsh Recruits Three Senior Executives to Lead Marine & Energy, Human Resources, Operations & Technology

One of the insurance industry's preeminent leaders in the Marine &Energy sector, Mr. Pierce joins Marsh from JLT, where he was ExecutiveVice President in charge of several business specialty lines.Previously, he was Managing Director of Aon Natural Resources and washead of the Marine & Energy Division of Energy InsuranceInternational. Mr. Pierce began his insurance career as a marineinsurance broker with Johnson & Higgins in 1978 and then joined Marsh,where he held management positions in the Marine & Energy Practice inLondon and Houston. He is a graduate of Kenyon College and of theHarvard Business School's Program for Management Development.

Mr. Fong joins Marsh from JP Morgan Chase & Company, where he wasSenior Vice President and Human Resources Executive for CorporateSector Groups. His 28-year career began in 1978 at General FoodsCorporation and includes senior positions in human resources withChase Manhattan Bank, N.A. in the U.S. and overseas. A graduate ofYale University, Mr. Fong also has MBA and MS degrees from ColumbiaUniversity.

Mr. Varnas previously was Head of Product Management and GlobalHead of IT & Operations for UBS Global Asset Management. During hiscareer, he has held senior positions in asset management, investmentresearch and analysis, and operations with several leading investmentmanagement firms. Before joining UBS, he had been Chief OperatingOfficer for Morningstar Investor Services. He is a graduate of PaceUniversity and has an MBA degree from Columbia University.
