New York, August 02, 2016 -- Moody's Investors Service commented that Tenet Healthcare Corporation's announcement that it believes it has reached an agreement in principal with the U.S. government to resolve the Clinica de la Mama criminal investigation and civil litigation for $514 million is credit negative. Payment of the settlement amount will result in the use of available cash and revolver, thereby weakening the company's liquidity position and increasing leverage. However, there is no change to the existing ratings, including Tenet's B2 Corporate Family Rating and B2-PD Probability of Default Rating. The stable rating outlook is also unchanged.
