Peabody Energy Corporation -- Moody's lowers Peabody's PDR to D-PD, will withdraw all ratings

New York, April 13, 2016 -- Moody's Investors Service today lowered Peabody Energy Corporation's (Peabody) Probability of Default Rating (PDR) to D-PD from Ca-PD. The action was prompted by the company's April 13, 2016 announcement that it voluntarily filed for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. All other ratings are affirmed. The outlook is negative.
