Moody's: US CMBS loss severities remain above historical average in Q1 2016

New York, June 03, 2016 -- In the first three months of 2016, US CMBS loan loss severities reverted to levels closer to those seen prior to the final quarter of 2015, Moody's Investors Service says in its latest loss severities report. The weighted average loss severity was 49.3% for the 139 loans liquidated in the first quarter of this year, compared to 58.2% for 240 loans liquidated in the prior quarter, which was the highest quarterly loss severity since 2010. In both quarters severities topped the weighted average of 42.8% for loans liquidated between 1 January 2000 and 31 March 2016.
