New York, January 27, 2015 -- Moody's Investors Service today upgraded the senior unsecured debt ratings of Covidien International Finance SA to A3 from Baa1. Covidien International Finance SA is a subsidiary of Covidien plc, which was just acquired by Medtronic plc. Concurrently, Moody's confirmed and will subsequently withdraw the rating on Covidien's existing commercial paper program, which was terminated at close. This concludes Moody's rating review, which was initiated on June 16, 2014.
