Compania de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. -- Moody's comments that the outcome of regional elections in Peru is credit negative for Buenaventura, but has no impact on the company's Baa3 ratings.
New York, October 08, 2014 -- Moodys: In last Sunday's regional elections in Peru, Mr. Gregorio Santos, from the MAS (Movimiento Afirmación Social) party, was elected for the government of the province of Cajamarca. We view Mr. Santos' election as credit negative for Buenaventura, as the candidate is clearly against mining activities. Nevertheless, there is no immediate impact on Buenaventura's Baa3 ratings.
