Braskem Finance Ltd -- Moody's assigns Baa3 rating to Braskem Finance Limited's notes; negative outlook

Sao Paulo, January 16, 2014 -- Moody's Investors Service has today assigned a Baa3 foreign currency rating with negative outlook to the USD 500 million senior unsecured notes due 2024 issued by Braskem Finance Limited (Cayman Islands) and fully and unconditionally guaranteed by Braskem S.A. Proceeds from the notes will be used to prepay existing capital market and bank debt and will lengthen Braskem's debt amortization schedule. The rating of the notes assumes that the final transaction documents will not be materially different from draft legal documentation reviewed by Moody's to date and assume that these agreements are legally valid, binding and enforceable.
