    Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), a global provider of secure e-messaging, e-prescribing, and e-transaction applications and services, today announced that Sierra Health Services, Inc. (NYSE:SIE), a diversified healthcare company based in Las Vegas, has selected ZixCorp's ZixVPM(R) (Virtual Private Messenger) and ZixPort(R) solutions for system-wide email protection.
    The company signed a three-year contract for ZixCorp's services to comply with the secure email mandates of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). ZixVPM will enforce email security policies for Sierra's 3,000 employees to ensure secure handling of confidential data, including a pre-configured HIPAA lexicon that automatically detects Protected Health Information (PHI). ZixPort will provide custom branding and encrypted messaging functionality to Sierra's Web site.
