Yahoo Acquires RockMelt; Deal Value Not Disclosed

(RTTNews) - Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO), never seems to rest as it adds social media web browser, RockMelt to its stable of acquisitions. The value of the deal was not disclosed by Yahoo, but sources close to the firm claim that the price range was more than $50 million.

The RockMelt apps and web product which was launched way back in 2010, will be shutdown on August 31 and be integrated into Yahoo's media platform to deliver content in innovative methods.

Piror to the shutdown of the apps and web browser, the users who have had their share of RockMelt, can export their existing items as bookmarks and the feeds they follow into an OPML file.
