Wire-free Switch Entrepreneurs Win 2017 Manning Innovation Award
EDMONTON, Dec. 7, 2017 /CNW/ - Entrepreneurs, James Keirstead and Jim Qualie, won the 2017 Manning Innovation Award for developing a wire-free switch that increases convenience and safety while reducing economic and environmental costs for residential and commercial building projects.
The Ernest C. Manning Foundation presents the Innovation Award to talented Canadian innovators who are improving people's lives through their commercialized innovations.
"It is an honour to be selected as a Manning Innovation award recipient this year," says Keirstead, CEO and President of Edmonton-based Levven Electronics. "The GoConex wire-free switch is an example of innovation speeding-up construction, increasing work capacity, conserving resources and labour, and introduces new features that wired switches can't deliver. We are seeing builders and electricians adopt this innovation because it gives them a way to earn new top and bottom-line growth."
Chuck Haskins, CEO of Haskins Electric says, "It is rare to be introduced to a product that provides the results people want while delivering new efficiencies and revenue for the business. GoConex is a game-changer for us."
By eliminating the need to physically connect switches to lights and other devices, the GoConex switch creates new labour efficiencies, adds new functionality, and opens up new business opportunities.
In a typical new home, wire-free switching reduces over 700 feet of copper wire, dozens of electrical boxes, and hours of skilled labour. With GoConex, residential installations are 30% faster, commercial installations are 65% faster and adding a switch is 95% faster.
GoConex wire-free switches can be mounted at any height on any surface like tile, brick, drywall or even glass. Changing a switch location is easy, just take it off the wall and move it. Renovations are inexpensive and simple as there's no need to cut holes in walls.
GoConex is sold at Home Hardware and Kent Building Supplies in Canada and at Crescent Electric and Destination Lighting in the US. GoConex will be available in BMR, RONA and Lowe's Canada stores by the end of 2017.
