Vitesse Announces 1 for 20 Reverse Stock Split Effective June 30, 2010

Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (Pink Sheets: VTSS), a leading provider of advanced IC solutions for Carrier and Enterprise networks, today announced it will complete a 1 for 20 reverse stock split of its common stock, to take effect on June 30, 2010. The Company previously obtained stockholder approval for the reverse split.

The reverse split will reduce the number of shares of Vitesse common stock outstanding from approximately 459 million to approximately 23 million.

Under the terms of the reverse split, shareholders of record holding Vitesse common stock on the effective date will receive one new share for every 20 shares held and will be sent instructions for exchanging their existing stock certificates for new stock certificates, and for receiving cash compensation in lieu of fractional shares.

Shareholders with shares in "book entry” at ComputerShare, or who hold their stock with a broker, will have their shares automatically converted into new shares and receive compensation for fractional shares held. Shareholders holding fewer than 20 shares will receive cash consideration in lieu of fractional shares.
