Video Shows Nissan Leaf Vulnerable To Hacking
(RTTNews) - Nissan's popular electric car Leaf can be easily hacked, allowing hackers access to the car's heating and air-conditioning systems, according to security researchers Scott Helme and Troy Hunt.
Hackers can use Nissan Leaf's remote management APIs to access even driving records from anywhere across the world through Internet.
Nissan has a mobile app for Apple and Android devices to allow customers to access these features.
Hunt said he informed Nissan of the vulnerability on January 23. He said he gave them more than a month to solve the issue before he decided to make it public.
Hunt advises Leaf owners to disable their Nissan CarWings account in order to be on the safe side.
