VCA Q3 Profit Down

(RTTNews) - VCA Inc. (WOOF), Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $27.5 million or $0.31 per share, down from $40.6 million or $0.45 per share last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter improved to $0.56 per share from $0.47 per share last year.

Revenues for the quarter rose to $499.6 million from $464.1 million last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.52 per share on revenues of $494.1 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking forward to the fourth quarter, the company expects adjusted earnings of $0.35 to $0.37 per share. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $0.36 per share for the quarter.
