UTi Worldwide Q3 Net Loss Widens - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - UTi Worldwide Inc. (UTIW) Tuesday reported a wider net loss for its fiscal third quarter, hurt by an impairment charge and a drop in freight forwarding revenues.

For the three months to October, the supply chain and logistics company posted net loss of $33.99 million, compared with a loss of $9.07 million a year earlier. Per-share loss widened to $0.35, from $0.09 a year ago.

Loss, excluding certain items, was $0.08 per share. On average, thirteen analysts polled by Thomson-Reuters estimated the company's quarterly profit to be $0.06. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Revenues declined to $1.08 billion, from $1.15 billion last year, below the $1.17 billion Wall Street expected.
