Utah.gov Selected Winner of 2010 Government Customer Support Excellence Award
Utah’s official website (http://www.Utah.gov) and its customer support team were recently honored with the 2010 Government Customer Support (GCS) Excellence Award in the category of Technical Excellence – Utah.gov’s 3rd GCS Excellence Award. The GCS Excellence Awards are presented annually on behalf of Cgov Community of Practice (http://www.fedhelpdesk.roc.noaa.gov) to recognize government excellence in customer service.
The awards spotlight the very best in government customer service in four categories: teamwork, technical excellence, customer focus, and overall excellence. Winners and other finalists are selected based upon independent scoring by a panel of judges from both the public and private sectors.
Winners were acknowledged at the 9th Annual Government Customer Support Conference and Expo in Alexandria, Virginia on April 19, 2010. This year, Utah.gov took home the top prize in the Technical Excellence Category. Utah.gov was the only state government website to have its customer support team honored.
"We are very honored to receive this recognition,” said J. Stephen Fletcher, Chief Information Officer for the State of Utah. "We live in a technology-rich state where citizens demand exceptional service and innovation. This award shows that our Utah.gov customer support team is outstanding and we will continue in our efforts to provide services that enable government to operate more efficiently.”
