Uruguay's ANTEL Selects Amdocs for Enterprise-wide Process and Organizational Transformation
ST. LOUIS, Feb. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amdocs , the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced that the Administracion Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (ANTEL), Uruguay's state-owned telecommunications company, has selected Amdocs Consulting to realign its business strategy and transform its business processes and organizational structure. Through this enterprise-wide transformation program, ANTEL will be better positioned to quickly launch next-generation services and operate more efficiently in order to facilitate business growth and customer retention.
"Transforming ANTEL's business processes and organizational structure is an example of how the company -- a public owned entity committed to its clients and the entire Uruguayan community -- is continuously looking for ways to offer the best service and offerings to its customers, and how we are adjusting to our customers' and owners' -- the Uruguayan community -- desire for an increasingly digital, converged experience -- whether it be voice, data, video, or other services," said Juan Berruti, Project Director for ANTEL. "We're confident that Amdocs' expertise with leading global service providers will help ANTEL remain the market leader and ensure the right processes are in place to propel it forward as a world-class telecom provider."
Enabling Business Transformation
ANTEL, which provides fixed and mobile telecom services, as well as broadband Internet, to the majority of Uruguay's residents, is among the first providers worldwide to adopt the guidelines introduced in the recently announced Amdocs CES (customer experience systems) Blueprint. Through the Amdocs CES Blueprint, Amdocs plans to help service providers enhance the way they manage customer interaction and experience -- and help them transform into purveyors of a digital lifestyle.
Specifically, Amdocs will design and re-shape ANTEL's strategy, business processes and corporate structure to make it more competitive, agile and customer-centric in the increasingly deregulated Uruguayan telecom marketplace.
Amdocs will also evaluate ANTEL's business processes and organizational structure and functions, and align them to industry benchmarks and best practices. ANTEL's business processes will also be redesigned to align with TeleManagement Forum's Next Generation Operations Systems and Software (NGOSS) standards. The transformation project will be rolled out over three years and will ensure that ANTEL has best-in-class business and technology processes.
ANTEL will undertake the implementation of the new business processes as well as the organizational changes; this will mark the start of a complete transformation process that will extend beyond this specific contract.
"Latin America is one of the most dynamic telecom markets in the world, experiencing rapid growth of subscribers and competitors vying for those subscribers," said Charles Born, vice president of corporate communications for Amdocs. "As providers like ANTEL face increasing competitive challenges in their business environment, the key differentiator for them will be the experience they offer their customers. By undergoing this business transformation, ANTEL will be well-equipped to offer a competitive, intentional customer experience, while also operating efficiently and cost- effectively."
