Unum Group Q4 Profit Rises 2%

(RTTNews) - Unum Group (UNM) released earnings for its fourth quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $230.6 million, or $0.95 per share. This was up from $225.7 million, or $0.89 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.92 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.0% to $2.72 billion. This was up from $2.64 billion last year.
