Unit Corp. Announces 5% Gain In Q3 Profit

(RTTNews) - Unit Corp. (UNT) revealed a profit for its third quarter that increased from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $1.75 million, or $0.04 per share. This was higher than $1.66 million, or $0.03 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn -$0.07 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 27.8% to $153.41 million. This was down from $212.39 million last year.
