Unidym's CTO Dr. Paul Drzaic Named New President of the Society for Information Display

Unidym, Inc, a majority-owned subsidiary of Arrowhead Research Corporation (NASDAQ:ARWR), announced today that Unidym’s Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Paul Drzaic, will become the new President of the Society for Information Display (SID). Dr. Drzaic will assume the SID Presidency at SID’s Display Week conference and symposium at the Los Angeles Convention Center, May 18th through 23rd. SID is the leading international professional society exclusively devoted to the advancement of electronic display technology, manufacturing, and applications. Now in its 46th year, with more than 550 booths and 8,000 attendees, SID’s Display Week is the flat panel display industry’s most prominent technical conference and exhibition, drawing participation from the world’s leading companies and universities in flat panel displays. As Unidym’s Chief Technology Officer, he is currently working on the commercialization of carbon nanotubes for electronic devices and other applications. Previously, he has held the positions of Vice President for Advanced Development at Alien Technology Corporation, Director of Technology at E Ink Corporation, and Principal Scientist at Raychem Corporation. Dr. Drzaic’s professional career has spanned development efforts in novel display technologies, flexible electronics, and RFID technology. He is author of a book on liquid crystal science and technology, 19 journal publications, 55 US patents, and over 20 articles in conference and popular publications. He is a winner of the 2002 National Team Innovation Award from the American Chemical Society, as well as an Editor’s Choice award for the R&D 100 awards for 2001. Dr. Drzaic has held several leadership positions within the Materials Research Society, has sat on technical advisory boards for four different university-based US Nationals Science Foundation Materials Research Centers. He holds a PhD in chemistry from Stanford University, and a BS in chemistry from the University of Notre Dame.
