Umpqua Q3 Profit Tops Estimate

(RTTNews) - Umpqua Holdings Corp. (UMPQ) reported net earnings for the third quarter of $58.8 million or $0.27 per share, compared to $23.3 million or $0.21 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, operating earnings for the third quarter was $65.1 million or $0.30 per share, compared to $26.5 million or $0.24 per share in the prior year quarter.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.29 per share for the third quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net interest income for the third quarter was $225.7 million, up $118.9 million from the same period in the prior year. Total non-interest income for the third quarter was $61.9 million, up $35.8 million from the same quarter in the prior year.
