TV Guide Network Signs Leading Primetime TV Personalities Carrie Ann Inaba and Chris Harrison to Anchor Its Signature Live Red Carpet Specials
TV Guide Network announced today that it has signed talent deals with well-known faces from two of the highest rated shows on primetime television. Carrie Ann Inaba, a judge on the hit network juggernaut series "Dancing with the Stars,” and Chris Harrison, host of the popular long-running dating reality series "The Bachelor,” will anchor TV Guide Network’s signature live Red Carpet shows starting at the 2009 Primetime Emmy® Awards.
Ms. Inaba and Mr. Harrison will also host the network’s live Red Carpet coverage in 2010 at the Golden Globe® Awards, Screen Actor’s Guild Awards®, Grammy® Awards and Academy Awards®. Following on the heels of TV Guide Network's announcement last week of an agreement with Disney-ABC Domestic Television to acquire the exclusive basic cable off-network rights to ABC Studios' Golden Globe (R) Award winning television series "Ugly Betty," the new talent deals are another building block in TV Guide Network’s transformation to become a top quality destination for entertainment programming.
"Carrie Ann Inaba and Chris Harrison are two of the highest profile faces on television today, who bring an instant connection with millions of fans at home and familiar, friendly faces to stars walking the Red Carpet,” said Ryan O’Hara, President, TV Guide Network and TVGuide.com. "Partnering with talent of their caliber is a huge win for us as we continue TV Guide Network’s transformation as a programming destination that celebrates the best and brightest stars in the world of entertainment.”
Carrie Ann Inaba said, "I'm thrilled to join TV Guide Network during such an exciting phase of its evolution. I am looking forward to teaming up with Chris Harrison and making the Red Carpet an inviting place to celebrate Hollywood and the stars."
Chris Harrison added, "Red Carpets are some of Hollywood’s most celebrated and most-watched events on television, and I’m delighted to be anchoring TV Guide Network’s live coverage with Carrie Ann Inaba. Together, we will make the Red Carpet experience fun and enjoyable for both the stars and the fans at home.”
In addition to hosting TV Guide Network’s live Red Carpet pre-shows, Ms. Inaba and Mr. Harrison will also headline other award show-related programming for the network. Ms. Inaba will host one-hour "Fashion Wrap” specials following key award shows, which recap fashion highlights from the Red Carpet. Mr. Harrison will host a one-hour preview special for each award show, which highlight the nominees for the events.
