Tronox Names Steve Wachnowsky Vice President of Global Pigment Operations

OKLAHOMA CITY, June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tronox Incorporated named Stephen (Steve) Wachnowsky vice president of global pigment operations, responsible for the company's titanium dioxide pigment operations.

In his new position, Wachnowsky will be responsible for Tronox's global pigment facilities, which include plants in the United States (Hamilton, Miss., and Savannah, Ga.), Europe (Botlek, Netherlands, and Uerdingen, Germany) and Australia (Kwinana, Western Australia).

"Steve has been a driving force behind operational improvements at our Savannah facility, and I am confident he will continue to drive manufacturing excellence throughout our global pigment operations," said Marty Rowland, Tronox chief operating officer. "Steve's extensive industry experience and emphasis on continuous improvement through team work will be invaluable as we continue to execute our strategies, with a goal of improving uptime, reducing costs and increasing quality."

Wachnowsky joined Tronox in August of 2004 as the Savannah plant manager. He has more than 30 years of experience in the chemical manufacturing industry. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering technology from Point Park University in Pennsylvania and also participated in the manufacturing management program at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
