Time Warner, Univision Communications Announce Multi-year, Multi-platform Deal

(RTTNews) - Time Warner Cable Inc. (TWC) and Univision Communications Inc., announced a multi-year, multi-platform agreement to deliver even more Univision content to Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks subscribers. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The agreement, which comes well in advance of the expiration of the parties' existing agreement, will bring a comprehensive selection of Hispanic networks and content to Time Warner Cable customers, including Univision's new networks: Univision Deportes, Univision tlNovelas and FOROtv.

Time Warner Cable said it will also be among the first distributors to carry the El Rey Network. Created and programmed by renowned filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and FactoryMade Ventures, El Rey is a new English-language entertainment cable network geared towards young-adult audiences launching at the end of 2013.

The company noted that this multiplatform deal will provide Time Warner Cable's customers access to a robust offering of content for digital platforms and VOD, which includes additional "TV Everywhere" content for TWC TV's out-of-home platforms and authenticated access to Univision's UVideos and Univision Deportes digital properties.

The expanded partnership also includes renewed distribution rights for Univision's flagship broadcast and cable networks.

Univision Deportes Network and Univision tlNovelas will be available this week on Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks in most Univision markets, and El Rey will be available soon after its launch at the end of 2013.
