Tian Tian Ventures - TTgo intends to enforce stringent driver standards
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 4, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Tian Tian Ventures (TTV) has announced on Wednesday that it will implement a revised driver vetting process that will feature stricter protocols on driver qualification, as it looks to maintain its high standards before its ride-hailing platform, TTgo, launches in China.
The US firm has upheld a pristine disciplinary record in the States and will be eager to keep the same standards as it launches in the $30 billion Chinese market. While other ride-hailing services have been plagued by controversies and high-profile incidents in recent times, TTgo has been quietly expanding its operations; it now operates in 15 different cities worldwide, 10 in the US alone, and so far, they have steered clear of any major mishaps.
"We're very proud of this achievement actually. We think this is because we have always stuck to our principles of doing things the right way and making sure our drivers can fully represent the TTV philosophy," explains Benjamin Berger, TTV's CEO. The proposed revision will include thorough background checks, including credit history, past convictions, traffic violations and character review, as well as fingerprinting all current and prospective drivers. This represent a bold move by TTV in its pursuit to overtake more established services like Uber, Lyft and Didi Chuxing, who still mostly shun the idea of fingerprinting drivers. TTV will also review each driver's eligibility every three months to ensure drivers continue to meet the requirements.
In general, TTgo drivers can't have DUIs or major moving violations within the last eight years. They're also not permitted to have more than three minor violations, such as speeding tickets, within the past three years. Drivers also can't have a criminal record that includes a conviction for a felony, violent crime or sexual offenses in the last eight years.
This process is complicated by varying state laws in different countries. However, TTV is determined not to let it hinder its growth. It has specialized legal units in each country to make sure that its ride-hailing service adhere to all regulations. In China, the firm is working with authorities and local partners every day, making sure its upcoming launch goes according to plans.
Berger added, "We have secured the partnership of Landun Equipment Group who will provide us of state-of-the-art security technology as well as military trained drivers who meet our stringent standards. We are also in touch with local authorities regarding certain area specific regulations. We are confident that we are ready for China."
