The Swiss Stock Market Fell On Caution Ahead Of Central Bank Meetings

(RTTNews) - The Swiss stock market ended the first day of the new trading week with a modest decline. Disappointing German business confidence data, falling crude oil prices and weak U.S. housing data had investors in a negative mood.

Investors also adopted a cautious attitude ahead of two important central bank meetings this week. The Bank of Japan and the U.S. Federal Reserve are both expected to conclude their respective policy meetings. The Fed is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged, but traders are likely to keep a close eye on the accompanying statement for clues about the outlook for the next meeting in June.
