Tim Lewis, formerly of the Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club in Alto, New Mexico, was recently selected from a pool of more than 20 applicants. Lewis has a long history in the private club industry, getting his first job at a club at the age of 16. He has been a general manager since he was 27 and has extensive experience enhancing family-oriented amenities, fostering a welcoming environment for both staff and members and keeping down expenses.

"We are extremely excited that Tim is joining Quechee as General Manager and COO. His extensive background in golf communities and marketing will be a real asset," said Quechee Club President John Ferney. "We owe our thanks to the Search Committee who did a terrific job in matching our requirements against the various candidates."

Lewis is a graduate of Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, where he majored in accounting. His first position as a club general manager was at the Sycamore Hills Golf Course in Fort Wayne, Ind. Since then, Lewis has been the general manager of clubs in Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona and Utah.

One of his most notable positions was as director of operations at Promontory – The Ranch Club in Park City, Utah. This private, family-oriented community features Jim Dye and Jack Nicklaus golf courses, 1,900 homes, a tennis center and numerous other indoor and outdoor amenities. Promontory is considered the top luxury community in Park City and in 2006 was named the #1 Golf Community in the Country by Golf Inc.

During his time at Promontory, Lewis also worked to enhance family-oriented activities, including movie nights, outdoor excursions and parent-child camping trips, ski outings and cookouts.

Lewis comes to Quechee from Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club, located in the mountains of Southern New Mexico. This 2,600-member club has golf, tennis, fitness club and multiple dining rooms. During his time there, Lewis has been successful in increasing member participation in a broad spectrum of amenities while effectively managing the club's budget.

Lewis was hired after an extensive search, led by Kopplin & Kuebler, a leading recruiting firm assisting clubs with their executive level positions. The final selection was conducted by The Quechee Club's Search Committee. This team of four men and four women represented various age groups and interests at The Quechee Club.

The Quechee Club is looking forward to Lewis coming onboard on Sept. 9 to head the employee team and increase The Quechee Club's family-oriented activities.
