Telefonica Q3 Profit Rises; Upgrades Revenue Guidance - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Telefonica (TDE.L, TEF) reported that its profit attributable to ordinary equity holders of the parent in the third quarter reached 1.14 billion euros, grew 35.8% from prior year. Basic earnings per share was 0.21 euros, growing 39.8% from last year. In underlying terms, profit increased 12.6% year-over-year. In underlying terms, profit per share was 0.21 euros, an increase of 14.1%.

Third-quarter revenues were 11.70 billion euros, down 8.3% from a year ago, accelerated organic growth to 2.7%. Mobile data revenues increased in the quarter by 7.8% in organic terms on the back of improving service revenues (up 1.2% in the quarter); and the strong progress in handset sales.

The company upgraded its revenue guidance to growing around 2% (around 1%, previously), despite the negative impact from regulation.
