Symyx Appoints Symyx Tools President

Symyx Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:SMMX), a provider of software, automated workflows and services for improving R&D productivity, today announced the appointment of Gerard Abraham as president of Symyx Tools, which automates and accelerates experimentation through modular systems and integrated high-throughput workflows. Mr. Abraham joins Timothy Campbell, president of Symyx Software, and Richard Boehner, head of Symyx Collaborations, in leading the Company’s three key business units. Mr. Abraham served most recently in several senior positions in the U.S. and overseas at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., including president of its process systems and process instruments divisions. Previously, he was with HP and Matra-Harris. Mr. Abraham brings significant experience developing and scaling instrument businesses in global markets.
