St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center Selects Merge Healthcare for Cardiology Image and Information System

Merge Healthcare (NASDAQ: MRGE), a leading provider of enterprise imaging and interoperability solutions, announced today that St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center will implement its enterprise-wide cardiology image and information management system at its 245-bed facility in Enid, OK.

St. Mary's provides progressive cardiac care and services and selected Merge Healthcare’s cardiology solution to integrate data and images from different sites and sources to create a comprehensive digital patient record.

St. Mary's replaced their existing system with the full Merge Cardio solution, which includes functionality for hemodynamics, cath, echo, vascular and ECG. The Merge Cardio solution will manage and analyze digital medical images and provide clinical tools to optimize the complex cardiology workflow within multi-hospitals networks. It also includes a unique Web-based clinical reporting feature that improves cardiac patient management by streamlining the report generation and distribution process.

"One of the reasons we selected Merge was because our labs are on split floors,” said Stan Tatum, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. "And we needed to provide our physicians with an integrated view of the entire patient’s record, regardless of their location.”

"St. Mary’s demonstrates the value a comprehensive cardiovascular solution brings to a hospital,” said Jeff Surges, Chief Executive Officer of Merge Healthcare. "Merge is helping St. Mary’s to further enhance the process by which care is delivered by providing a solution that is enterprise-wide and provides multi-modality functionality.”
