Spreadtrum Communications Q2 Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - Spreadtrum Communications Inc. (SPRD) posted second-quarter net income attributable to the company of US$34.8 million, up from US$21.0 million in the prior year quarter. Net income per ADS for the quarter was US$0.64, compared to US$0.41 last year.

The Company's Non-GAAP net income per ADS was US$0.95, compared with US$0.58 per ADS in the year ago quarter.

Revenue in the latest second-quarter totaled US$277.81 million, up 60.5% from US$173.13 million in the comparable quarter last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.72 per share on revenues of $274.07 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
