SAN DIEGO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 2005--SciTegic announced today that Spotfire, Inc., Accelrys, Inc., and The BioTeam have joined its independent software vendor (ISV) partner program in order to utilize Pipeline Pilot to integrate their industry-leading products.
Spotfire is developing an interface to launch Pipeline Pilot data processing workflows from within DecisionSite, its visual data analytics application. Accelrys software users will gain the ability to add more information about their data (e.g., derived chemical properties) through the execution of data processing routines via Pipeline Pilot. Through its professional services consulting, The BioTeam will now be able to help life science researchers develop infrastructures that integrate Pipeline Pilot. These industry leaders join the six other software vendors that have recently joined the ISV program.
Spotfire and SciTegic's collaboration will help tightly couple DecisionSite's easy-to-use, interactive visual analytics with the powerful, automated data processing features of Pipeline Pilot. The integration uses DecisionSite's open computational services framework to allow researchers to easily embed Pipeline Pilot computations and data pipelining methods in DecisionSite Guides.
Accelrys has begun integrating a number of applications in the areas of chemical informatics and visualization, structure based design, and bioinformatics. One of the first advances will allow users of DS Accord for Excel to call computational protocols within Pipeline Pilot. Furthermore, Pipeline Pilot users will be able to access DS Accord Chemistry Cartridge databases in Oracle and to automate and deploy high-throughput docking experiments and consensus scoring using Accelrys' LigandFit and LigScore.
"SciTegic recently launched its ISV program to provide a level-playing field for software vendors that want to integrate their tools in a data pipelining environment. We provide technical assistance to help our partners achieve high quality integration." commented Matt Hahn, vice-president & general manager of SciTegic. "Combining the tools from these ISVs with Pipeline Pilot will allow our customers to solve more complex problems, and do it in a more efficient manner."
"We are responding to the needs of our customers, including leading pharmaceutical R&D organizations that see great value in integrating these products," commented Spotfire President Rock Gnatovich. "Bringing together the data processing workflow of Pipeline Pilot with the analysis workflow capabilities of DecisionSite will solve a key business problem for researchers-shortening the time to the next experiment in the discovery process."
"Building a strong set of technologies around Pipeline Pilot is an essential element to providing our customers with effective scientific solutions, said Mark Emkjer, president & CEO of Accelrys. "We believe our customers will get more flexibility and choice and see tremendous benefits by being able to operate Accelrys' scientific applications within SciTegic's data pipelining framework."
"The BioTeam's strength is building scalable informatics solutions for life sciences," said William Van Etten, PhD, Founding Partner of The BioTeam. "Our partnership with SciTegic will further strengthen our capability to provide a comprehensive solution to our customers."
